As a direct selling consultant you have worked hard to build your business and achieve success. You are working hard to improve your strategies, and your passion for your work is more than a dream. Now we just need to take your sales business to the next level of vendor events.
Vendor Tips:
A vendor event gives the customer the first look of your business, making it very important for your table to be appealing to the eye. You want your table to attract potential customers, not scare them off or leave them thinking you've put little effort into your work. An attractive booth makes it feasible to engage them in conversations about your product line. The right display is key to hold the attention of those walking by your table. Too many items on your table or in your booth can look unorganized and cluttered. Handmade risers can be made of pieces of wood utilized to raise like items and conserve space. I personally have went for a more thrifty option of using a small box to slide under my table cloth to use as a lifter. For a booth, a banner can be inexpensively fashioned from pieces of material with your logo stitched on with colors complimenting your displayed items. There are many sites that you may purchase your own personalized banner. Vistaprint is one that I have found offers great discounts via coupon codes. The direct sales business often needs a hands on approach, with no limit to creativity.
Depending on what your product is, you may want to offer a free giveaway or even a buy in raffle. In the past, I have made cards to collect their info such as name, email address, street address, and phone number. This way you are gaining leads from the vendor event and can follow up on them later. Requiring a phone number or email will ensure that you can get their prize to them if they are not at the event when you draw the winner. I put together a large basket full of our hottest selling items. You always want to list the value of the basket at full retail price. Feel free to set the cost to enter at what is appropriate for your out of pocket cost. If my basket was valued at $100 and my cost was $50. I might set my ticket price at $3 each or 5 tickets for $10 as a special discount to ensure I make my investment back. At the end of the event you can draw a name and contact the winner. By doing this you have gained several potential leads for new customers and team members. I typically contact my leads in about 3 days by phone to let them know that unfortunately they did not win the basket. However, you explain that they still have a chance to get more free products and discounts by hosting their own party. You can also explain the business opportunity. If I've had a great event I always share with them my total sales and the commission I made, along with how many parties and potential team members I received from the vendor event.
